Ahmet Aslan is a world music artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Turkey. He has been producing music since 2011, and his style is heavily influenced by traditional Anatolian music, jazz, funk, soul, reggae and hip hop. He has collaborated with many renowned artists such as Sezen Aksu, Seyhan Karabay and Nil Karaibrahimgil.
Early Life and Influences
Ahmet Aslan was born in Adana, Turkey in 1982. He grew up surrounded by Turkish folk music, which had a great influence on him. He also listened to Turkish singer/songwriter Bariş Manço and British rock band Led Zeppelin. After he graduated from high school, he moved to Istanbul to study at the Istanbul Technical University's Conservatory of Music. He learned about various genres of music such as jazz, funk, soul and rhythm & blues.
Music Career
In 2011 he released his debut album 'Mantra'. His second album 'Kafadan Bir' was released in 2013 and featured the hit single 'Kafadan Bir'. The album was critically acclaimed and topped the iTunes World Music Chart in several countries. Following this success, he released two more albums: 'Soul & Funk' (2015) and 'Tropikal Egzotik' (2017). His latest album 'Türkstar' (2019) includes collaborations with renowned Turkish musicians such as Emre Kula, Emir Ersoy and Seyhan Karabay.

As well as his solo work, Ahmet has collaborated with numerous other artists both in Turkey and internationally. He has collaborated with British record producer Seb Rochford on 'The Flying Camel' (2013) and with British cellist Hannah Marshall on 'The Dreamers' (2014). He also collaborated with Sezen Aksu on her album 'Adı Bende Saklı' (2015). In 2019 he collaborated with Nil Karaibrahimgil on the song 'Kalbimin Tek Sahibine'.
