Barros began his musical career in the early 1980s when he joined the band Los Profetas. The group was known for its fusion of cumbia and traditional Colombian sounds. In the 1990s, he became the group's leader and continued to explore a variety of musical styles ranging from rock to salsa.
Collaborations and Solo Projects
In 1994, Barros collaborated with Shakira on her hit single “Pies Descalzos” which became a major success worldwide.
