Ana Isabel Torroja Mecinas is a legendary Spanish singer, songwriter and actress. On top of her solo career, she's also well-known for being the lead singer of Mecano and for collaborating with José María Cano.
Early Life
Torroja was born in Madrid, Spain in 1956. She started singing at a very young age and joined the band Mecano in 1982. After the band went on hiatus in 1992, she started her solo career with the release of her debut album Ríe (Laugh) in 1993.
Career
Torroja's solo albums include No Controlo Nada (I Don't Control Anything) (1995), Mi Mundo Ideal (My Ideal World) (1998), and Canciones 96-06 (Songs 96-06) (2006). She also released two live albums: En Directo I y II (Live I & II) (1997) and Directo Desde El Teatro Real (Live From The Royal Theater) (2008).
In 2010 she sang the duet 'Vivir Así' with José María Cano which was featured on his album Vivir Así. Throughout her career she has released a total of 8 studio albums and 2 live albums.
