She is well known for her powerful vocals and unique musical style that combines Indonesian traditional music with western pop. Born in Indonesia, she moved to France at the age of 13 to pursue her music career. Since 1997, Anggun has released more than 10 albums, many of which achieved success in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Early Life and Career
Anggun was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 29th 1975. At the age of seven she started appearing on television as a child singer. In 1983 she released her first album ""Dunia Aku Punya"" (My World) which was a huge success in Indonesia. Her second album ""Anak Putih Abu Abu"" (Grey Hair Child) was released two years later. In 1986 she appeared in Eurovision Song Contest representing Indonesia with the song ""Soubrettes Orientales"".
International Success
In 1997 Anggun moved to Paris to pursue an international career. In 1998 she released her first international single ""Snow on the Sahara"" which reached number one on the charts in France and Italy. The same year she released her debut international album of the same title. The album achieved great success across Europe and Asia.

Throughout her career, Anggun has collaborated with many famous artists such as Sting, Eros Ramazzotti, Ronan Keating and Sergio Mendes. Most recently she collaborated with Sting on the track ""Stolen Car"" from his album ""57th & 9th"".
