Early Life of 2Baba

Innocent Ujah Idibia, known professionally as 2Baba, was born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Plateau State in Nigeria. He attended Saint Gabriels Secondary School in Makurdi. He then enrolled in Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) Enugu, where he studied Business Administration.

Music Career of 2Baba

2Baba began his music career as a member of the late 1990s R&B–hip hop group called Plantashun Boyz. The group included Blackface Naija and Faze. In 2004, he released his debut solo album Grass 2 Grace. It was a huge success with hit singles such as African Queen and See Me So. In 2006, he went solo with his second album Face 2 Face which includes the songs Implication and True Love. 2Baba has collaborated with many other music stars such as Tiwa Savage, Chidinma, Burna Boy and Wizkid.

Awards & Achievements

2Baba has won several awards including MTV Europe Music Awards for Best African Act in 2004 and BET Awards for Best International Act in 2010. He was also named one of the 100 Most Influential People in The World by Time Magazine in 2020.

Philanthropy

In 2006, 2Baba founded the humanitarian organization 2Face Idibia Reach-Out Foundation (2FIFO). The foundation focuses on empowering widows and orphans through educational scholarships, medical assistance, and public health campaigns. It also provides emergency relief services to victims of natural disasters in Nigeria.

Personal Life

2Baba is married to Annie Idibia, an actress and model. Together they have two daughters and twins sons. He is an avid fan of Manchester United Football Club and an advocate for animal rights.
