Who is Ahmed Chawki?

Ahmed Chawki is a Moroccan singer, songwriter, composer and producer. He was born in Casablanca, Morocco on April 7th 1988. He gained international recognition after releasing his hit single “Time of Our Lives” in 2014. The music video for the single was viewed over 100 million times on YouTube.

Early Life

Ahmed Chawki was born in Casablanca and began learning to play the piano from a young age. He went on to study music theory at the Casablanca Music Conservatory. After completing his studies, he moved to Paris to pursue a career in music production.

Career

In 2011, Chawki released his debut album “The Red Rose” which featured collaborations with international artists such as Dr. Alban and RedOne. In 2014, he released his single “Time of Our Lives” which gained him international recognition. The single reached number one on the French music charts and was certified gold in France and Belgium. Since then, he has gone on to collaborate with artists such as Shaggy and Mohombi and has released several singles including “Khalini N3ich”, “Mabrouk” and “Mama” which have all been successful in France and the Middle East.

Awards & Achievements

Chawki has won several awards for his music including the 2016 NRJ Music Awards for Best International Song for “Mama” and the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best African Act for “Khalini N3ich”. In 2018, he was nominated for Best International Act at the MTV Africa Music Awards.

Personal Life

Chawki is currently based in Paris but frequently travels to Morocco to perform at concerts. He is married and has two children. He enjoys playing football in his spare time.
