Who Is Anup Rubens?

Anup Rubens is a well-known music composer, singer, and producer from India. He is best known for his work on the soundtracks of many Telugu movies. Anup has gained a huge fan following not just in India but also abroad. He has composed for several popular Telugu films such as ‘Mahanubhavudu’, ‘Kirrak Party’, ‘Mukunda’, ‘Gopala Gopala’, and ‘Jyo Achyutananda’.

Early Life & Career

Anup was born on 14th August 1982 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his schooling at St. Mary's High School in Vijayawada. Anup later studied at the Madras Christian College in Chennai and graduated with a degree in engineering. He then moved to Hyderabad to pursue a career in music. His first album was released in 2004 titled ‘Chinna Maata’ which was composed by the legendary music director Ilayaraja. Anup subsequently worked with other prominent composers such as A R Rahman, Devi Sri Prasad and Yuvan Shankar Raja on several movie soundtracks.

Major Works

Anup has worked on several movie soundtracks including ‘Kirrak Party’, ‘Mahanubhavudu’, ‘Gopala Gopala’ and ‘Mukunda’. His most recent works include the hit soundtracks of movies such as 'Rangasthalam', 'Geetha Govindam', 'Krishna And His Leela', and 'Jyo Achyutananda'. He has also composed the song 'Yemainado' from the movie 'Jyo Achyutananda'. The song was a huge hit and won him rave reviews from fans all over the world.

Awards & Achievements

Anup won the Mirchi Music Awards for Best Music Director for his work on the movie 'Kirrak Party' (2018). He was also nominated for the Filmfare Awards South for Best Music Director for his work on 'Gopala Gopala' (2015). Anup also won the SIIMA Awards for Best Music Director for his work on 'Kirrak Party' (2018).

Personal Life

Anup is married to Pavani Reddy and they have two children together. He currently lives in Hyderabad with his family.
