About Babbal Rai

Babbal Rai is an acclaimed Punjabi singer and songwriter who has released many chart-topping hits over the years. Born Simranjit Singh Rai in Punjab, India, Babbal was inspired to pursue a career in music after listening to songs by renowned Punjabi singers such as Gurdas Maan, Kuldeep Manak and Surjit Bindrakhia. He has since gone on to become one of the most successful Punjabi singers, with a number of hit singles and albums under his belt.

Early Career

Babbal's career began in 2005 when he released his first album Rabb Ne Banaiyan Jodiean. The album became an instant hit, with the title track becoming a chart-topper and reaching number one on various radio playlists. Babbal followed up with another successful album in 2007 called Jump 2 Bhangraa. The album featured hit tracks such as “Aish Karo” and “Mera Laung Gawacha”, both of which reached the top of the music charts.

Collaborations

Over the years, Babbal has collaborated with several renowned artists including Jazzy B, Gippy Grewal and Ammy Virk. His most notable collaboration was with Gippy Grewal on their hit single “Paani” which was released in 2014. The track gained immense popularity and was even featured in the critically acclaimed film Happy Bhag Jayegi.

Recent Work

In 2018, Babbal released his third studio album “Jump 2 Bhangraa Vol. 2” which featured several hit tracks such as “Kudi Tu Pataka” and “Tere Karke”. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike and was also nominated for Best Pop Album at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards. In addition to his music career, Babbal has also made several appearances in films, TV shows and documentaries. He is currently working on new music and is set to release an EP later this year.
