Early Life and Career Beginnings
Banky W. started his musical career as a member of the defunct R&B group called ""Klassique"" while studying engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. In 2002, he founded EME (Empire Mates Entertainment), an independent record label in Lagos, Nigeria that has gone on to become one of the most influential labels in the African music industry.
Rise to Fame
In 2005, Banky W. released his debut studio album ""Back in the Building"", which became an instant hit in Nigeria and other African countries. The single ""Strong Ting"" from the album was well received by fans and critics alike and this propelled Banky W.'s rise to fame.
