Who is Bump of Chicken?

Bump of Chicken is a Japanese rock band formed in 1994 by four high school friends - Motokiyu Fujiwara, Hiroaki Masukawa, Yoshifumi Naoi, and Hajime Matsuo. The band has released twelve studio albums and various other releases. Their music blends elements of rock, punk, and pop to create a unique sound. They have been praised for their catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics.

Bump of Chicken's music has earned them many accolades in their native Japan. Their first album, Flame Vein, peaked at number 12 on the Oricon chart and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Their second album, Jupiter, was even more successful and topped the Oricon chart for two weeks. The album also spawned their first number-one single, “Tentai Kansoku”. Other popular singles include “Lamp”, “R.I.P”, and “Hello World”.

Throughout their career, Bump of Chicken have won numerous awards and recognition. They have won two Japan Gold Disc Awards (Best 5 Singles of the Year and Best 5 Albums of the Year).
