The band was founded in 1999 by Mark Hall, who serves as the lead singer and songwriter. The band’s lineup currently consists of Mark Hall (lead vocalist and songwriter), Juan DeVevo (guitar), Melodee DeVevo (violin and background vocals), Hector Cervantes (guitar), Chris Huffman (bass guitar), Megan Garrett (keyboard) and Brian Scoggin (drums). The band has released eight studio albums, one compilation album and one live album. They have released twenty-seven singles and eighteen music videos. Their discography has been certified gold and platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Award-Winning Music Casting Crowns has won multiple awards over the course of their career. They have won four GMA Dove Awards for Group of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. They also won Song of the Year for “East to West” in 2008 and Recorded Music Packaging for Until the Whole World Hears in 2010. In 2011, they won Artist of the Year at the Dove Awards.
