C.H.A.Y., born Chay Landes, is an up-and-coming rapper, singer and songwriter from Houston, Texas. At 26 years old, C.H.A.Y.'s unique sound draws from a variety of influences, including hip-hop, pop, rock and R&B. He has quickly gained recognition for his creative lyrics and production style that has earned him a dedicated fan base and numerous accolades from critics.

C.H.A.Y.'s love for music started when he was just a child in Houston, Texas where he was surrounded by the city's vibrant music scene and local talent. He was heavily influenced by the likes of Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Andre 3000 as well as more contemporary artists like Drake and Kendrick Lamar which helped him to shape his own unique sound and style of rap music.

In 2014 C.H.A.Y released his first EP titled “The Humble Beginnings” which received critical acclaim from music blogs and even landed him on the cover of Houston’s Urban Magazine that same year.

Since then he has dropped multiple projects such as “The Change Season” (2015), “The Real Me” (2016) and “The Reflection” (2017). In 2018 he released his biggest project to date titled “The Difference Maker” which featured some of Houston's top producers including Mike Dean (Kanye West, Travis Scott) and S1 (Kendrick Lamar).

In 2019 C.H.A.Y was named one of the top 10 rappers to watch by Complex Magazine and was featured in XXL Magazine as a part of their “Rising Stars” list alongside other prominent artists such as Lil Baby and Gunna.

He has also been featured on Billboard Magazine’s list of “10 Rappers to Watch in 2020” which solidified his place as an artist to watch in the hip hop community.
