Who Are CH!PZ?

CH!PZ is a Dutch-Belgian pop band considered to be one of the most popular Dutch music groups in the 21st century. It was formed by vocalist Maura Vanden Berghe, keyboard player Kevin van der Grinten and drummer Lennert Wolfs in 2002. The trio have gone on to have a successful career with their infectious energetic pop songs.

History

CH!PZ began in 2002 when Maura, Kevin and Lennert decided to form a band. They released their first album, ‘The Adventures of CH!PZ’, in 2003. The album featured their debut single ‘Cowboy’, which quickly gained popularity and charted in the Netherlands and Belgium. This success was followed by their second single ‘Captain Hook’ and they had a top 5 hit with ‘Chick Magnet’. Their second album ‘Cartoon Heroes’ was released in 2005 and featured the singles ‘One Day’ and ‘Fantasy World’.

Music Style

CH!PZ are known for their upbeat, energetic pop songs with catchy choruses. Their lyrics often contain references to pop culture and often take on a comedic approach. The trio also use elements of hip hop, R&B and rock in their songs and performances.
