Clint Black is an American country music singer-songwriter and musician. He has sold over 20 million records, released nine studio albums and over 30 singles, including five number one hits. Black has had multiple Grammy Award nominations and has won several awards from the Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM).

Early Life

Black was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on February 4, 1962. At a young age, he moved to Katy, Texas with his family where he developed a strong interest in music. He taught himself how to play the guitar and began writing songs at the age of 16.

Career

In 1989, Black released his debut album Killin' Time which spawned four singles that made it to the top of the charts – “A Better Man”, “Killin' Time”, “Nobody's Home” and “Walkin' Away”. This album was certified double platinum in 1990. In 1991, he released his second album Put Yourself in My Shoes which had two singles - “Put Yourself in My Shoes” and “Loving Blind” - that both reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. During his career, Black has released eight more studio albums - The Hard Way (1992), No Time to Kill (1993), One Emotion (1994), D'Lectrified (1999), Nothin' but the Taillights (1998), Drinkin' Songs & Other Logic (2005), On Purpose (2015) and Out of Sane (2020).

Personal Life

Black married actress Lisa Hartman in 1991. Together they have one daughter - Lily Pearl Black.
