Corey Mitchell Hart is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer from Montreal, Quebec. He is best known for his hit songs ""Sunglasses at Night"" and ""Never Surrender"".

Early Life

Corey Hart was born in 1962 to parents who were both involved in the entertainment industry. His father, Robert Hart was an opera singer, while his mother, Mina, was a dance teacher. During his childhood, he had the opportunity to travel all over the world, from Europe to Africa, which had a major influence on his music.

Career

In 1983, Hart released his first single, ""Singles at Night"", which quickly became a hit in Canada. The single eventually climbed up the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States and reached number 7 on the chart. It was followed by his debut album, First Offense, which also became a major success. The album spawned several other hits including ""It Ain't Enough"", ""Boy in the Box"", and ""Never Surrender"". He went on to release several more albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Boy in the Box (1985), Field of Dreams (1989), Young Man Running (1992) and Jade (1995).

Legacy

Throughout his career, Hart has sold over 16 million records worldwide. He has also won numerous awards including Juno Awards for Best Male Vocalist of the Year and Best Songwriter of the Year. He has also been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. To this day, he continues to tour throughout North America and remains one of Canada's most beloved singers.
