David Archuleta’s Story
David James Archuleta was born in Miami, Florida, on December 28th, 1990. He was the second of five children and from an early age he showed a passion for music. He spent much of his childhood singing in church and performing with the local children’s choir. By the time he was 12 years old he was already a semi-professional singer performing in many local talent shows.
Rise to Fame
In 2007, at the age of 16, David auditioned for the seventh season of American Idol. He quickly became one of the top contestants and finished second in the competition. Following his appearance on American Idol, David released his debut album “David Archuleta” in 2008 which went double Platinum in the United States and achieved Gold status in several other countries. His single “Crush” reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Collaborations
David has worked with many other artists throughout his career. He collaborated with The Backstreet Boys on the single “Don’t Stop Believing” in 2009 which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also collaborated with Olivia Holt on her single “Had Me @ Hello” in 2016.
