History of Dead Kennedys
Dead Kennedys is an American punk rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1978. The band was highly influential in the U.S. punk rock scene and was one of the first hardcore bands to make a significant impact outside of the United States. The band's original line-up consisted of vocalist Jello Biafra, guitarist East Bay Ray, bassist Klaus Flouride and drummer D.H. Peligro, all of whom contributed to their signature sound and style. Throughout their career, the band released seven studio albums and numerous singles and compilations.
Discography
Their debut album Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables was released in 1980 on Alternative Tentacles and was met with critical acclaim. The album spawned several successful singles including “California Uber Alles” and “Holiday in Cambodia”. In 1981, the band released their second album In God We Trust, Inc., which featured more experimental elements than their debut album. The band's third album Plastic Surgery Disasters was released in 1982 and featured their most popular single “Too Drunk to Fuck”.
