About Distrito 23

Distrito 23 is a Mexican Garage Rock band from Mexico City. The group was formed in 2014 and consists of four members: lead vocalist and guitarist, Guillermo Ochoa, drummer and backing vocalist, Diego Molina, bassist and backing vocalist, Luis Cervantes and keyboarder and backing vocalist, Guillermo Villarreal. Their music style is characterized by its energy and the fusion of different genres such as rock, punk and ska.

Early Career

Distrito 23 started their musical career in Mexico City's underground music scene, playing their first live show in 2014. Since then they have become one of the most important alternative rock bands in the city. In 2016 the band released their debut EP “La Dimensión” which gave them recognition in the Mexican music scene. The EP had five tracks with a mix of garage-rock and punk.

Breakthrough

In 2018 Distrito 23 released their first studio album “Tiempo”. This album consolidated the group as one of the most important emerging bands in Mexico. It includes 11 tracks that mix different musical styles such as punk, ska and surf with lyrics that talk about love, friendship and life experiences. The album was well received by the public and critics alike.

Recent Projects

In 2020 Distrito 23 released their second studio album “Otra Dimensión” which was produced by Grammy Award winner producer Juan Carlos “JC” Lozano. The album has 11 tracks that mix garage rock with elements of funk, reggae and hip hop. The album is an exploration of different musical styles and sounds that makes it an interesting listening experience for fans of rock music. The band is currently working on their third album which is expected to be released in 2021.
