Who is Gonzalo Nawel?

Gonzalo Nawel is a Chilean singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is known for his lyrical style, which is infused with Latin American soul and sounds. He has released several solo albums as well as collaborating with other artists on various projects.

Early Life

Nawel was born in Santiago, Chile. He grew up surrounded by music, as both his parents were professional musicians. He began to play guitar when he was 10 years old and continued to hone his skills throughout his teenage years. At the age of 18, he moved to the United States to pursue a career in music.

Career

Nawel released his debut album in 2005. The album featured a mix of Latin styles, including bossa nova, bolero, and salsa. It was met with critical acclaim and earned him several awards in Chile. Following the success of his first album, he released two more albums in quick succession. In 2010, he released an EP titled “Más Allá”, which featured collaborations with various Latin American artists. His most recent album, “Todo Cambia” (Everything Changes) was released in 2016 and features a more contemporary sound.

Nawel has won several awards for his music in Chile, including Best Male Singer at the Premios Festival de Viña del Mar in 2008, Best Male Singer at the Premios Nacional de la Música Chilena in 2009, and Best Latin Album at the Premios Nacional de la Música Chilena in 2012.
