Guano Apes are a German alternative rock band from Göttingen. The band consists of four members: Henning Rümenapp, Stefan Ude, Sandra Nasic, and Dennis Poschwatta. The band was founded in 1994 and released their first album, Proud Like a God, in 1997.

The founding members of Guano Apes are Henning Rümenapp (guitar), Stefan Ude (bass), and Dennis Poschwatta (drums). In 2000, singer Sandra Nasic joined the group. Henning is 45 years old and Stefan is 44 years old. Dennis is 44 years old and Sandra is 39 years old.

Music of Guano Apes

Guano Apes have released five studio albums throughout their career. Their first album, Proud Like a God, was released in 1997 and featured the hit singles “Open Your Eyes” and “Rain”. Their second album, Don't Give Me Names, was released in 2000 and featured the hit single “Big in Japan”. The band collaborated with A-ha on the single “Lift Me Up” for their third album, Walking on a Thin Line. They also collaborated with Moby on the single “Silence” for their fourth album, Planet of the Apes. Their fifth and final album was Bel Air, which was released in 2011.

Legacy of Guano Apes

Guano Apes have been nominated for several awards throughout their career, including four Echo Music Awards and two MTV Europe Music Awards. They have also toured extensively throughout Europe and have performed at festivals such as Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. They were part of the Big Day Out tour in Australia in 2003 and they were also the opening act for Manic Street Preachers’ European tour in 2010. The band announced their indefinite hiatus in 2011.
