Who Is J-AX?

J-AX (real name Alessandro Aleotti) is an Italian rapper, singer, and songwriter who has been active in the music industry since 1999. He is best known for his collaborations with other artists including The Colle Der Fomento, Articolo 31, and Fedez. He has released eight solo albums throughout his career, as well as multiple compilations and EPs.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

J-AX was born on August 5, 1972 in Milan, Italy. He started out as a member of the hip-hop duo Articolo 31 alongside DJ Jad. The duo released three successful albums between 1994 and 2002. After the duo disbanded in 2003, J-AX went on to pursue a solo career.

Solo Success and Later Career

In 2004, J-AX released his first solo studio album entitled Di sana Pianta. The album was a success and spawned two singles that charted in Italy. His follow-up album In the Name of Love was released in 2006, and it spawned three top 20 singles in Italy. His third album Deca Dance was released in 2009, and it achieved gold status in Italy. Since then he has gone on to release five more successful solo albums.

Throughout his career, J-AX has collaborated with numerous other artists, including The Colle Der Fomento, Articolo 31, Fedez, Fabri Fibra, Club Dogo, and Marracash. He has also featured on several tracks by other artists including Elisa's song “A Modo Tuo”.

Awards and Achievements

J-AX has received numerous awards throughout his career including two MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Italian Act in 2006 and 2007 respectively. He also won the TRL Awards for Best Video for his song “Maria Salvador” in 2014. In 2020 he won the MTV Music Award for Best Male Artist.
