Who is Jay Park (박재범)? Jay Park (박재범) is a Korean-American hip-hop artist, dancer, songwriter and entrepreneur. He was born in Seattle on April 25, 1987 and raised in Edmonds, Washington. He is the leader of the independent hip-hop crew AOMG. He first gained recognition as a member of South Korean boy band 2PM, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2008.<br><br> Early Career In 2009, Jay released his first mini album “Take a Deeper Look” with the 2PM single 10 points out of 10 points. He was featured on the single “Heartbeat” from the 2PM album “1:59pm”. In 2010, he released his second mini album “New Breed Part 1”. That year he also collaborated with South Korean hip hop group Ugly Duck on their single “Ain't No Party Like This”.<br><br> Solo Career In 2011, after leaving 2PM, Jay established his own music label AOMG and released his first EP “Take A Deeper Look Part 2”. He has since released several studio albums and singles, including “I Like 2 Party”, “You Know” and “Be On Top”. His music has been featured on several television shows and films including The Walking Dead and The Big Short. In 2012, he founded the record label H1GHR MUSIC with long time collaborator Simon Dominic. The label has since signed several artists including Sik-K, pH-1, Groovy Room and more.<br><br> Collaborations Jay has collaborated with many other artists throughout his career such as Jeremy Thurber, Simon Dominic, Ugly Duck, Kush, Gray and Dok2. He has also been featured on songs by Justin Bieber, Rihanna and G-Dragon. In 2017 he was featured on the single “All I Wanna Do” with American rapper Hoody.<br><br> Awards & Accolades Jay Park has won numerous awards throughout his career including Best New Artist at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards and Best Male Artist at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2016 he was nominated for Best Male Artist at the Asia Model Awards. He has also been named one of the 100 most influential people in Seoul by Seoul City Hall in 2018.<br><br>
