Biography

K. Michelle is an American singer, songwriter, and television personality. She is best known for being a former member of the R&B group Divinyls and for her solo career. She has released several albums since 2009, including Rebellious Soul (2013), Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? (2014), More Issues Than Vogue (2016), Kimberly: The People I Used to Know (2017), All Monsters Are Human (2019), and All Monsters Are Human Deluxe Edition (2020).

Early Life

Kiesha Michelle Baxter was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 4th 1983. She grew up in a middle-class family in Memphis and learned to play piano at an early age. She attended both Overton High School and South Side High School in Memphis and graduated from the latter in 2001.

Career

K. Michelle's career began when she joined the R&B group Divinyls in 2002. The group released their debut album The Way We Were in 2003 and enjoyed moderate success until their disbandment in 2007. After the group disbanded, K. Michelle decided to pursue a solo career.

Recording Career

K. Michelle began her solo career with the release of her debut album Rebellious Soul in 2013. The album featured hit singles such as “V.S.O.P” and “Can't Raise A Man”, and was certified gold by the RIAA. Her second album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart? was released in 2014 and featured the hit single “Love 'Em All”. Her third album More Issues Than Vogue was released in 2016 and featured the hit single “Not A Little Bit”. Her fourth album Kimberly: The People I Used to Know was released in 2017 and featured the hit single “Make The Bed”. Her fifth album All Monsters Are Human was released in 2019 and featured the hit single “Supahood”. Her sixth album All Monsters Are Human Deluxe Edition was released in 2020 and featured the hit single “The Rain”.

Television Career

K. Michelle has also had a successful television career with appearances on shows such as Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, K.Michelle: My Life, Temptation Island, Sisterhood of Hip Hop, and more recently The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Personal Life

K. Michelle has two sons named Chase Bowman (born 2008) and Chase Bowman Jr (born 2015). She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
