About Lalo Mora

Lalo Mora is a renowned Mexican ranchera singer and songwriter who has been a major presence in the Latin music industry for more than three decades. Born José Ramón Ayala Morales, he was born in the small town of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He began his musical career at a young age, playing local venues and honing his craft. He quickly developed a style that was uniquely his own and soon gained recognition as one of the top ranchera singers in Mexico.

Early Career & Success

In 1981, Lalo signed with Fonovisa Records and released his first album, “Canta Lalo Mora”. He went on to release six albums with Fonovisa before signing with Sony Music in 1997. During this time, he also began to collaborate with some of the biggest names in Latin music such as Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández, Los Tigres del Norte, Hugo Avendaño, Los Temerarios and many more.

His most successful album to date is “Un Hombre Sencillo” which was released in 1998 and went on to become one of the best-selling Latin albums of all time. He also won numerous awards for his music including a Latin Grammy Award in 2004 for Best Ranchero Album. He continues to perform throughout Mexico and Latin America and has become an icon of Mexican culture.
