Who is Ligabue?

Luciano Ligabue, better known as Ligabue, is an Italian singer-songwriter, film director, and writer. He was born in Correggio, Italy on March 13th, 1960. He is one of Italy's most popular artists, with a career that has spanned over three decades. His music stands out for its powerful lyrics and unique sound. He often incorporates elements of rock, pop, and folk into his songs.

Early Career

Ligabue began his career as a songwriter in the late 1980s. He released his first album in 1990 entitled “Ligabue” which was met with positive reviews. The album contained some of his most famous songs such as “Balliamo sul Mondo” and “Certe Notti”. His second album “Sopravvissuti e Sopravviventi” was released in 1992 and contained the hit single “A Che Ora è La Fine Del Mondo” which reached number one in the Italian charts.

Film Directing

In addition to music, Ligabue has also directed several films including the 2001 comedy “Radiofreccia” which he wrote and directed. The film was a commercial success and won several awards including the David di Donatello award for Best Film. In 2007 he directed the romantic comedy “Niente Paura” which was also a commercial success.

In recent years, Ligabue has collaborated with many other artists including Gianna Nannini and Elisa. He has also released several successful albums such as “Primo Tempo” (2005), “Campovolo 2.0” (2011), and “Made in Italy” (2013). In 2016 he released the album “Giro d’Italia” which reached number one in the Italian charts. Ligabue continues to be a popular artist in Italy and abroad with a career spanning over three decades.
