Lil B, full name Brandon Christopher McCartney, is an American hip-hop artist from Berkeley, California. He is known for his unconventional approach to hip-hop music and has been referred to as the “BasedGod”. His music has been described as an amalgamation of Bay Area rap, Southern trap music and cloud rap. He has gained a huge following on social media for his unique take on hip-hop music and has collaborated with various other artists, including Chance The Rapper, The Weeknd, Diplo and Tinashe.

Early Life

Lil B was born in Berkeley, California in 1989. He grew up in a musical family, with his father being a singer and songwriter. Career

Lil B has won numerous awards throughout his career including two BET Hip Hop Awards for Best Mixtape in 2011 and 2012 and two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Video With A Message in 2014 and 2015. In 2017 he was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song.
