Who Is Lily Allen? Lily Rose Beatrice Cooper (born 2 May 1985), better known by her stage name Lily Allen, is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She is the daughter of actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Her debut studio album, Alright, Still (2006), was a huge commercial success in the United Kingdom. She followed it with the release of her second studio album, It's Not Me, It's You (2009). Allen has had several UK Top 10 hits including 'Smile', 'The Fear' and 'Fuck You'.Early Life Allen was born in Hammersmith, London in 1985. She was brought up in a middle-class family in London's Westminster borough. Her mother worked as a film producer while her father was an actor. She attended 13 different schools before she was 14 years old due to constant relocation of her parents. At age 15 she was expelled from school and sent to a boarding school.Career In 2002, aged 16, she signed a recording contract with London Records. She released her first single 'Smile' in 2006 which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. This was followed by her debut studio album Alright, Still which received widespread critical acclaim. The album contained hits like 'Smile', 'LDN' and 'Alfie'. Her second studio album It's Not Me, It's You was released in 2009 and contained hits like 'The Fear' and 'Not Fair'. In 2013 she released her third studio album Sheezus which contained hits like 'Air Balloon' and 'Hard Out Here'.Personal Life Allen married Sam Cooper in 2011. The couple have two daughters together: Ethel Mary (born 2011) and Marnie Rose (born 2013). In 2018 she announced that she had separated from Cooper.Awards & Achievements Allen has won numerous awards throughout her career including two Brit Awards for Best British Female Artist (2007 & 2009).
