Lorenzo Fragola is an Italian singer-songwriter and music artist. He was born on June 16, 1996 in Catania, Italy. Lorenzo rose to fame after winning the eighth season of the Italian X Factor in 2015. Since then, he has released two albums, “1995” and “Zero Gravity”, and several successful singles.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Fragola began playing the guitar at age 9, and started studying classical music at the age of 13. He began performing around his hometown of Catania when he was just 15 years old. In 2015, Lorenzo took part in the eighth season of the Italian X Factor. He was mentored by Mika, and went on to win the show with his original song “Siamo uguali”.

Breakthrough Success

Following his success on X Factor, Lorenzo signed a recording contract with Sony Music Italy. He released his debut album “1995” in November 2015. The album peaked at number 4 on the Italian Albums Chart and was certified gold by FIMI. It also spawned two singles, “Infinite Volte” and “Amore Avrai”, which both charted within the Top 10 of the Italian Singles Chart.

Recent Projects

In 2017, Lorenzo released his second studio album “Zero Gravity”. The lead single of the album, “Fenomeno” reached number 1 on the Italian Singles Chart and was certified 3x Platinum by FIMI. In 2018, he released “Cercami” as a promotional single for the Sanremo Music Festival 2018. He participated in the Festival with the song “Il Confronto”, which placed 8th out of 24 entries. Later that year, he released his third studio album “Mille Boyz”.

Awards and Achievements

In 2016, Lorenzo won Best New Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2016 in Rotterdam. In 2019, he received a nomination for Best New Artist at the Sanremo Music Festival 2019.
