Los Lobos: A Decades-Long Musical Journey
Los Lobos is a five-piece Latin rock and Americana music band from East Los Angeles. Founded in 1973 by David Hidalgo and Louie Perez, the band has gone on to become one of the most important musical acts of its generation. Throughout their four-decade career, they have been known for a wide range of influences including rock, blues, folk, Tex-Mex, country, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music. They are perhaps best known for their 1987 hit single ""La Bamba"", which was a cover version of the traditional Mexican folk song of the same name.
The Members of Los Lobos
The band currently consists of founding members David Hidalgo (guitar/vocals) and Louie Perez (guitar/vocals) as well as Cesar Rosas (guitar/vocals), Conrad Lozano (bass), and Steve Berlin (saxophone). All five members have been playing together since 1984.

Los Lobos has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Dr. John, Marshall Crenshaw, Antony Hegarty, and many more. They have also released numerous solo albums outside of the Los Lobos project. In addition to their musical work, they have also composed several soundtracks for films such as Desperado and The Big Lebowski.
Awards and Accomplishments
In 2007 Los Lobos was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. Beyond their induction into both institutions, they have also won multiple Grammy Awards for their albums Kiko (1993) and The Ride (2001). They have also been nominated for 11 other Grammy awards throughout their career.
