Master P is an American rapper, record producer, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Born Percy Robert Miller on April 29th, 1970 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Master P is the founder of No Limit Records, which was relaunched as No Limit Forever Records in 2010. He has released a total of 14 studio albums to date and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip hop such as Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and Mystikal.
Early Life & Career
Miller grew up in the Calliope Projects in Central City New Orleans. When he was five years old his father abandoned the family and Miller's mother had to take on two jobs to support her seven children. This motivated Miller to take on several entrepreneurial endeavors such as selling candy door-to-door and eventually becoming a drug dealer. After being arrested for possession of drugs he decided to pursue a career in music instead. He released his debut album ‘The Ghettos Tryin’ to Kill Me!’ in 1994 and it went on to become a major hit. This success led to the formation of his own label No Limit Records which was later relaunched as No Limit Forever Records in 2010.
Recent Work
Over the years Master P has released several albums as well as acting in films such as I Got The Hook Up 2 and Uncle P. He also appeared in television shows like Empire and The New Edition Story. His most recent album titled ‘The G Mixtape’ was released in 2018. He has also founded the charity organization ‘Team Hope NOLA’ which works towards providing educational resources for children in need. In 2019 he was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

Master P has been credited with helping to popularize Southern hip hop and has been praised for his business acumen and philanthropic endeavors.
