Who is Maua Sama?
Maua Sama is a 19 year-old Tanzanian singer and songwriter who has taken the East African music scene by storm. Born and raised in Dar es salaam, Tanzania, she started singing at an early age in church choir. After being encouraged by her family to pursue her dream of becoming a singer, Maua worked hard to gain recognition as an artist. She quickly rose to fame with her hit single “Iokote” which was released in 2017. Since then, she has released multiple singles and gained a following of over half a million followers on Instagram.
