Early Life MNEK (born Uzoechi Emenike) is a British singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Born in South London, he was raised in Nigeria until the age of 10 before returning to the UK with his family. At the age of 12, he began writing songs and producing music independently. After gaining recognition from several tracks he had released online, MNEK's career took off when he was asked to write for artists such as Beyoncé, Little Mix, Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, Zara Larsson and more.Recognition MNEK has achieved international acclaim for his work as a songwriter and producer. He has received multiple BRIT Award nominations for his writing on Dua Lipa's 'Last Dance' and Little Mix's 'Touch', as well as a Grammy nomination for co-writing Beyoncé's 'Hold Up'. In 2017, MNEK released his debut EP titled 'Small Talk', which was followed by 2020's 'Language' EP. The single 'Girlfriend', off the latter EP, peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart.Collaborations MNEK has worked with some of the biggest names in music. His writing credits include Beyoncé's 'Hold Up', Little Mix's 'Touch', Dua Lipa's 'Last Dance' and Zara Larsson's 'Never Forget You'. He has also collaborated with Rudimental on their singles 'Lay It All On Me' and 'Common Emotion'. In 2016, he released an accompanying single to Rudimental's 'Common Emotion' titled 'Head & Heart', which went on to become a top 10 hit in the UK.Discography MNEK has released two EPs so far - 2017's 'Small Talk' and 2020's 'Language'. His single 'Girlfriend' also peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. In addition to this, he has written and produced for numerous other artists, including Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Little Mix and Zara Larsson.
