Who is Mohit Chauhan? Mohit Chauhan is a renowned Bollywood playback singer, songwriter and composer from India. He has won several awards for his work, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer and the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He is widely considered to be one of the most successful singers in India. Early Life and Career Beginnings Mohit Chauhan was born in Himachal Pradesh, India in 1971. He started learning music at a young age, and later moved to Delhi to pursue a degree in physics. After finishing his degree, he started performing as a part time musician in Delhi and Mumbai. His breakthrough came in 2005 when he collaborated with the music director A. R. Rahman for the movie ‘Rang De Basanti’. His song ‘Khalbali’ became an instant hit and established him as one of the leading playback singers in India. Rise to Fame After his success with ‘Rang De Basanti’, Mohit Chauhan went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the Indian music industry such as Ayushmann Khurrana, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant and Amit Trivedi. He has sung for many blockbuster movies such as ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and ‘Rockstar’. He also composed songs for some of these movies.
