Panjabi MC is a British bhangra producer, born Rajinder Singh Rai in 1972. He is best known for his worldwide hit single ""Mundian To Bach Ke"", which has been remixed and sampled countless times since its release in 1998.
Early Life
Rai grew up in Birmingham, England where he was exposed to a mix of Indian and British culture from an early age. He began to learn classical Indian music and instruments at a young age and eventually moved to London in the 90s to pursue a career as a musician.
Career
In 1998 Panjabi MC released his first single, ""Mundian To Bach Ke"", which quickly became a hit in Europe and around the world. This success led to him collaborating with Jay-Z on the track ""Beware Of The Boys"", which was featured on Jay-Z's The Blueprint album. He has also collaborated with Labh Janjua and Bohemia. His latest album, The Raj, was released in 2019.
