Who is Peking Duk?
Peking Duk is an Australian electronic music duo comprised of Reuben Styles and Adam Hyde. Formed in 2010 in Canberra, Australia, the duo is best known for its genre-bending sound that blends house, pop, and alternative music. Their songs have charted in Australia and New Zealand, with their 2013 single “Take Me Over” peaking at number two in Australia and number four in New Zealand.
Discography
Peking Duk have released one studio album—2017's Stranger—along with a handful of EPs and singles. Their 2014 EP High reached number eight on the ARIA Albums Chart in Australia. In 2018 they released their international debut single “Fake Magic” featuring AlunaGeorge, followed by “Wasted” featuring Icona Pop.
Collaborations
In addition to their collaborations with AlunaGeorge and Icona Pop, Peking Duk have worked with Elliphant, Safia, Nicole Millar, Benjamin Joseph, and many more. The duo has also remixed songs for other artists including Lorde's “Tennis Court”, The Presets' “No Fun”, Tove Lo's “Habits (Stay High)”, and Kingswood's “She's My Baby”.
Live Performances
Peking Duk have toured extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand since 2013. They have played at music festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Listen Out. They've also been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 2019 they performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
Awards
In 2017 Peking Duk were awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the ARIA Awards. That same year they won Best Dance Release for their single “Stranger” at the APRA Awards. They also received nominations for Best Group and Best Dance Release at the ARIA Awards.
