Who Is Peter Fox?

Peter Fox is a German rapper, singer and songwriter from Berlin. He was born Stefan Friedrich in 1979 in Berlin and gained fame with his 2008 album Stadtaffe. He has collaborated with artists such as Max Herre and Clueso. His stage name comes from the pen-name of a character in a book by a famous German writer.

Career

At the age of 17, Fox started writing rap lyrics and singing in clubs. Soon after he worked as an intern at an independent record label and started recording his own music. In 2006 he released his debut solo album Deminoramax which was well-received by both critics and fans alike. His follow up albums Stadtaffe (2008) and Stadtaffe Live (2009) were even bigger successes.

Collaborations

Fox has collaborated with Max Herre on the album Hallo Welt! (2010) which was certified gold in Germany. He has also worked with many other artists such as Clueso on the track “Du fehlst mir” from the album Stadtaffe Live. He has also been featured on many other tracks from various artists.

Awards & Accolades

Fox has received numerous awards including the ECHO Award for Best National Rock/Pop Male Artist in 2009 and the Goldene Kamera award for Best Music National in 2010. He has also been nominated for several other awards such as the 1LIVE Krone for Best Live Act in 2009.
