Introduction to Pheelz

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Pheelz, is a Nigerian record producer, songwriter and music director. He is best known for his work with some of Nigeria's biggest music stars including Olamide, Davido and Wizkid. He has also collaborated with M.I Abaga, Wande Coal and Runtown.

Early Years

Pheelz was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1984. He grew up surrounded by music, learning to play the piano at a young age. His father was a professional musician, so he was exposed to African music styles such as highlife, juju and afrobeat early on. As a teenager, he started to experiment with production software such as FruityLoops and Reason, honing his skills as a producer.

Career Highlights

Pheelz's breakthrough came when he produced Olamide's hit single 'Story for the Gods' in 2014. Since then he has gone on to produce a number of hits for some of Nigeria's biggest artists including Wizkid's 'Baba Nla' and Davido's 'The Money'. He has also released a number of solo singles such as 'Gobe' featuring Olamide and Phyno and 'Wayward' featuring Reekado Banks.

Pheelz has won numerous awards for his work as a producer including two Nigeria Entertainment Awards for Producer of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In 2017 he was nominated for the Soundcity MVP Award for Producer of the Year.
