Who is ReTo?

ReTo (Łukasz Świdziński) is a 27-year-old hip-hop and rap artist from Poland. He initially started experimenting with music when he was in his early teens but didn't take it seriously until he was 21. His music has been praised for its catchy hooks and hard-hitting lyrics that touch upon topics such as identity, personal growth, and the struggles of life. ReTo has worked with some of the biggest names in the Polish hip-hop scene and has developed a strong fanbase in Poland and beyond.

Career Breakthrough

In 2015 ReTo released his debut album 'Earth' which was met with critical acclaim in the Polish hip-hop scene. His second album 'Defiance' was released in 2017 and pushed ReTo to the forefront of the Polish rap scene. The album spawned numerous hits such as 'Przez niebo' and 'Wojownik', both of which reached No.1 on the Polish hip-hop charts. ReTo has since gone on to collaborate with some of Poland's biggest stars such as Quebonafide, Taco Hemingway, and Sokół.

International Recognition

In 2019 ReTo released his third album 'The Gift' which gained him international recognition. The album featured collaborations with some of Europe's biggest rap stars including Mura Masa and Russ. The album shot to No.1 on the Polish charts and made it into the top 10 on the UK, German, Dutch, and French hip-hop charts. ReTo has since gone on to tour Europe, playing shows in countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy.

Style and Influences

ReTo's style is heavily influenced by classic 90s hip-hop as well as modern rap and trap music. He often switches between singing, rapping, and talking on his tracks which gives them a unique feel. His lyrics focus heavily on personal stories and experiences which makes them relatable to his fans. He cites artists such as Nas, Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, and Drake as his main influences.>
