Who is Rkomi?

Rkomi, born Riccardo Marcuzzo, is an Italian singer, songwriter and rapper from Milan. His music is a blend of hip-hop, soul, trap and R&B. He has quickly become one of the most popular young artists in Italy, with a growing fan base all around the world. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Gué Pequeno, Gue' Pequeno and Arisa.

Early Life

Riccardo Marcuzzo was born on December 10th 1994 in Milan. Growing up in a musical family, he developed an early interest in music. He started writing rap lyrics when he was 11 years old and at age 17 he released his first mixtape under the name RKOMI. The mixtape received positive reviews from both fans and critics alike. After graduating high school, he decided to pursue a career in music full time.

Music Career

In 2017, Rkomi released his debut EP 'Odio e Amore'. The EP was met with critical acclaim from the Italian music scene. The lead single 'Non C'è Più Niente' hit number one on iTunes Italy and was certified gold by the FIMI (Italian Music Industry Federation). Following this success, he released his first studio album 'Scatola Nera' in 2018. The album was certified gold by the FIMI and spawned several successful singles such as 'Cara Italia', 'Non Ci Sto Con Te' and 'Giovane Fuoriclasse'. In 2019 he released his second studio album 'Vero', which went straight to number one on both iTunes Italy and Spotify Italy's Top 50 Albums chart. The album was certified platinum by the FIMI. In 2020, he released his third studio album 'The PainKiller'. The album features collaborations with some of Italy's biggest stars such as Sfera Ebbasta, Gué Pequeno, Gue' Pequeno and Arisa.

Legacy

Rkomi has become one of the most successful Italian rappers of recent years. His lyrical content often touches on themes such as love, heartbreak and relationships. He has received numerous awards for his work including two MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Italian Act in 2018 and 2020. His songs have also been featured in popular video games such as FIFA 21 and NBA 2K19. Today, he continues to tour around Europe and release new music.
