Sandara Park (산다라박) is a South Korean singer, actress and model. She rose to fame after appearing on the reality show Star Circle Quest in 2004. In 2009, she debuted as a member of the K-pop girl group 2NE1, which was one of the most successful K-pop girl groups of all time. She has since become a successful solo artist and has appeared in several films and television dramas. She is also an active philanthropist, having founded the Sandara Park Love Bridge Foundation in 2013 to help those in need.
Early Life & Career Beginnings
Sandara Park was born on November 12th, 1984 in Busan, South Korea. Her family moved to Manila, Philippines when she was 10 years old. She attended high school at Poveda Learning Center in Manila and began her career as an entertainer after appearing on the Philippine television show Star Circle Quest in 2004. After her appearance on the show, she signed with Star Magic and appeared in several films and television shows in the Philippines. In 2007, she returned to South Korea and signed with YG Entertainment.
Breakthrough With 2NE1
In 2009, Sandara Park made her official debut as a member of the K-pop girl group 2NE1. The group quickly rose to fame and achieved immense success throughout their career. They are considered one of the most successful K-pop girl groups of all time, having released two studio albums and several hit singles. They disbanded in 2016.
Solo Career & Other Projects
After the disbandment of 2NE1, Sandara Park pursued a solo career and released her first solo single in 2017. She has also appeared in several films and television dramas including Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, Missing Korea and We Broke Up.
