Steelheart

Steelheart is an American rock band from New York City, founded by singer Michael Matijevic in 1990. The band's first album, Steelheart (1990), was a commercial success and included the hit single ""I'll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)"".

History

Steelheart's debut album was released in 1990 and featured the hit single ""I'll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)"", which reached No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The song was also featured on the soundtrack of the movie Singles. The follow-up single ""She's Gone"" reached No. 16 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Current members of Steelheart include vocalist Michael Matijevic, guitarists Chris Risola and Kenny Kanowski, bassist Frank DiCostanzo, and drummer Mike Humbert. In addition to their studio albums, Steelheart has released several live albums.

Awards

Steelheart has been nominated for several awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for their single ""She's Gone"" in 1992. The band has also been nominated for several American Music Awards and a Wammie Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Artist in 1994.
