Who Is Stylo G?

Stylo G is a 34-year-old London-born Jamaican artist and producer who has been making music since he was 15. He is best known for his hit single “Call Mi A Leader” which has become an anthem in the Caribbean dancehall scene. He has also collaborated with Vybz Kartel and Sean Paul as well as performing on tours across Europe and North America.

Early Life & Career Beginnings

Born to Jamaican parents in South London, Stylo G began producing music at the age of 15. His early career was heavily influenced by the sound of dancehall from Jamaica, with his unique style combining elements of reggae, hip hop and electronica. His first album, ‘My Name Is Stylo G’, was released in 2005 and featured songs such as “Call Mi A Leader” and “My Name Is Stylo G”. This album set him up as one of the most promising producers in the UK.

Rise to Fame

Stylo G's career took off when he released his second album ‘Living Life’ in 2007. The album featured collaborations with some of the biggest names in the UK dance music scene including Chase & Status, Naughty Boy and Kano. Since then he has gone on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the international music scene such as Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul and Gyptian. He has toured extensively across Europe and North America, playing at some of the biggest festivals in these regions.

Recent Projects & Other Ventures

In 2019 Stylo G released his third studio album ‘The Island Vibez’. The album included singles such as ‘Touch Down’ and ‘What You Want’ which both charted in the UK Top 40. In 2020 he released his fourth studio album ‘The Return Of The King’ which featured collaborations with artists such as Big Narstie, Donae'O and Lethal Bizzle. Aside from music, Stylo G has launched several businesses including a clothing line, a record label and a production company. He also runs a charity called ‘The Island Foundation’ which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds get into music production.
