History of Suede

Suede is an English rock band from London, England. The band was formed in 1989 by singer Brett Anderson and guitarist Bernard Butler. Other members of the original lineup included bassist Mat Osman, drummer Simon Gilbert and keyboardist Neil Codling. The band released their debut album Suede in 1993 and it quickly became a critical and commercial success.

Acclaim and Success

The band received widespread acclaim for their unique blend of glam rock, Britpop and alternative rock. They released several successful albums such as Dog Man Star (1994), Coming Up (1996) and Head Music (1999). In 1999, the band was awarded the Mercury Music Prize for their album Coming Up.

Recent Releases

After a brief hiatus in 2003-2004, Suede reunited in 2010 and have since released four albums: Bloodsports (2013), Night Thoughts (2016), The Blue Hour (2018) and their latest release titled The End of the World (2020).
