Who is Teni?

Teni, born Teniola Apata, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter whose unique style of Afrobeat music has made her one of the most popular artists in Africa. Teni first rose to fame with her hit single ‘Fargin’ in 2017, which went on to become one of the most streamed songs in Nigeria. Since then, she has gone on to collaborate with some of Nigeria's biggest artists, including Davido, Olamide and Phyno. Her songs have also been featured in several movies, including the blockbuster 'Lionheart'.

Teni's Music Career

In 2018, Teni released her debut EP 'Billionaire' which was met with critical acclaim. The lead single 'Case' was an instant hit, becoming one of the most streamed songs in Nigeria that year. She went on to win several awards at the 2019 Headies Awards and was nominated for 'Best New Artist' at the 2019 MTV Africa Music Awards. She has since gone on to release two more successful EP's - 'Uyo Meyo' in 2019 and 'Wonderland' in 2020. Her latest single 'Uyo Meyo' has become one of Nigeria's biggest hits of 2020.
