Who is TOOFAN?

TOOFAN is a musical group from Lomé, Togo in West Africa. They are composed of Moussa Dadis Camara (33) and Kiboung-Désiré (NA). Their style fuses African rhythms with elements of hip-hop, dancehall, and Afro-pop.

The Beginnings of TOOFAN

The group began in 2009 when Moussa Dadis Camara and Kiboung-Désiré formed the band. They had been friends since primary school and were both passionate about music. They started by playing at local clubs and bars in Lomé, but soon their music spread far beyond the borders of Togo.

TOOFAN's Rise To Fame

In 2012, the duo released their debut album, 'Apero Time'. The album was an instant hit in Togo and across West Africa. It included the hit single 'Gbedu', which soon became a dance anthem in clubs and on the radio. The success of 'Apero Time' propelled TOOFAN to international stardom and they quickly became one of the most popular bands in West Africa.

Collaborations with Other Artists

In addition to their own albums, TOOFAN has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie and Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay. They have also performed with international stars like Wyclef Jean and Akon.

TOOFAN Today

Today, TOOFAN continues to be one of the most popular acts in Africa. They have released four studio albums and have toured extensively throughout the continent. Their music is a celebration of African culture and has become a source of pride for many people from West Africa.
