Early Life
Toto Cutugno was born in 1943 in Fosdinovo, Italy. He grew up in a musical family and began to write songs as a child. He started singing professionally in 1963, joining a group called The Rokes. In 1965, he joined another group called I Campioni, where he had some success with songs such as “Il gioco dell’amore” and “Cosa sei”.
Career
In 1969, Toto Cutugno began a solo career and his first solo single “Uno tranquillo” was released. This was followed by the release of his debut album, Uno tranquillo (1971). He continued to release successful albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including albums such as Tu che m'hai preso il cuor (1976), L'italiano (1983), and Solo noi (1987).

Toto Cutugno has collaborated with a number of artists over his career. He has worked with Ricchi e Poveri, Al Bano and Vasco Rossi. He has also written songs for other artists such as Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini.
