A Legendary Singer-Songwriter

Umberto Tozzi is a legendary Italian singer, songwriter and musician who has been active since the late 1960s. He is known for his romantic ballads such as “Gloria”, “Ti Amo”, and “Tu” which have been translated into many languages. Early Career

Umberto Tozzi was born in Turin, Italy in 1952. He began playing music at an early age, learning to play guitar and piano. In the late 1960s he formed a band with two of his friends and began performing in clubs around Italy. In 1977 he released his first solo album which featured some of his most popular songs including “Gloria” and “Ti Amo”. The album was a hit and soon after he was invited to perform on Italian television.

International Success

In 1978 Umberto Tozzi released his second solo album which featured his hit single “Tu”. This song was translated into many languages and became an international success. He went on to tour Europe, Japan and the United States while continuing to write and record new music. Throughout the 1980s he collaborated with other artists such as Laura Branigan, Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler and Irene Cara. In 1986 he released a duet with Gianna Nannini called “Ti Amo” which became another international hit.

Recent Years

In recent years Umberto Tozzi has continued to tour and perform live shows around Europe while also releasing new music. His latest album, Una Parte Di Me, was released in 2017 and featured collaborations with Italian singer-songwriter Elisa and French artist Micky Green. He continues to be an influential musical figure in Italy and abroad.}
