Wande Coal (born Oluwatobi Ojosipe) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He is best known for his hit single 'Ololufe' from his debut studio album Mushin 2 Mo'Hits. His style ranges from Afrobeat to soul and he has collaborated with many notable Nigerian artists, including Burna Boy, Davido, Don Jazzy, and Tiwa Savage.

Early Life

Wande Coal was born on October 18th, 1980 in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up in the slum district of Ajegunle, where he was exposed to various genres of music as a child. He began singing at an early age and by the time he was 12-years-old, he had already written several songs. He had aspirations of becoming a professional singer when he graduated high school.

Career Beginnings

In 2006, Wande Coal signed a record deal with Don Jazzy's Mo'Hits Records. That same year, his debut single 'Bumper 2 Bumper' was released and it soon became a hit. This led to him being featured on the label's compilation album 'Curriculum Vitae'. In 2009, his debut studio album 'Mushin 2 Mo'Hits' was released to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album included the hit single 'Ololufe', which propelled him to stardom in Nigeria.

Rise to Fame

Since the release of 'Mushin 2 Mo'Hits', Wande Coal has become one of Nigeria's most popular Afrobeat and soul artists.
