Early Life
Werrason, born Noël Mpiana, was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, in 1967. He started playing music at a young age, learning traditional Congolese rhythms from his father. He also studied classical guitar, piano and drums. In 1987, he formed a band called Wenge Musica 4X4 with his friends Adolphe Dominguez, J.P. Buselele, and Lokassa Ya Mbongo.
Music Career
In 1992, the group released their first album and quickly gained success in their home country. They went on to collaborate with renowned African musicians such as Papa Wemba and Tabu Ley Rochereau.
