Who Is Z-Ro?

Z-Ro, born Joseph Wayne McVey IV, is an iconic rapper from Houston, Texas. He has been active in the rap game since 1998 and has collaborated with a number of other prominent rappers such as Paul Wall, Slick Pulla, Lil' Flip, T.I., Juvenile and Travis Scott.

Early Life

He was born on January 19th 1977 in Houston, Texas. Growing up he had a difficult childhood as his mother was in and out of jail while his father was absent from his life. As a result, he spent most of his childhood living with his grandmother who provided him with a stable home life despite the other difficulties he faced.

Musical Career

In 1997, Z-Ro released his debut album Look What You Did To Me and it immediately gained recognition due to its raw and honest lyrical content. It was this album that established him as an artist in the rap game and it wasn't long before other artists started taking notice of him. By 2003, he had released a number of albums including Let The Truth Be Told (2003) and The Life Of Joseph W. McVey (2004).
